James Zotto

Dr. James Zotto is a residency trained physical therapist who specializes in helping athletes from the professional level to weekend warrior quickly recover from injury so they can move better and continue to be active in their sport. James graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Wofford College in 2014. He was a four year letterman on the Wofford College football team that competes at the FCS Division 1 level. As a senior, he was named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America Football Second Team, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. He then went on to get his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The Medical University of South Carolina in 2017. Upon graduation, James moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota where he completed a Sports Residency at the University of North Dakota, where he was a part of the sports medicine team, treating their division 1 athletes. He is currently pursuing a Sports Manual Therapy Fellowship from the prestigious Institute for Athlete Regeneration. Through these expert programs, James has evolved into an elite clinician with unparalleled skills in manual therapy, exercise prescription, injury prevention, movement analysis, recovery, and human performance.
He is a board certified sports (SCS) and orthopedic (OCS) clinical specialist and holds certifications as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), Certified Dry Needling (certDN), Titleist Performance Institute (TPI M2) and Personalized Blood Flow Restriction Training. His advanced treatment methodology allows him to not only efficiently diagnosis his patients but uncover and treat the underlying cause. This allows him to achieve not only quick short-term improvements, but also long-term results. His eclectic approach allows him to succeed where other practitioners have failed, and help athletes reach a level that was otherwise not attainable.
James is an athlete himself, passionate about CrossFit and team sports. He understands the unique mindset of this population and has focused his physiotherapy mindset to specifically treat and help fellow CrossFit athletes struggling with pain, mobility restrictions, and acute or chronic injuries. Whether you are new to your sport or a seasoned veteran, his goal is to help you continue to perform at a high level in the CrossFit community and live an active lifestyle without pain or dysfunction.
